American Antiques… Vintage Textiles… Antique Folk Art… Vintage Jewelry… Antique Furniture… Mid-Century Modern
Marburger Farm Antique Show ... Dolly Johnson Antique Show… Antique Show Promotion and Free-Lance Writing

What’s in a name? Well, “Hot Tamale!” is an early 20th century folk expression of enthusiasm and wonder. It’s American… full of color… and makes you laugh --- much like the spirited American antiques for which Hot Tamale has been featured in such magazines as Country Home, Country Living and others.

Founded in New York City in the late 1980’s and now based in Texas, Hot Tamale Antiques scoots its well-worn boots across the United States in search of authentic, quality, one-of-a-kind antiques for your home. Owner Jan Orr-Harter has logged over a half a million miles, buying and selling in 41 states and Canada — so far — travelling from Texas to Maine, from New York to New Mexico, picking through hundreds of sunrise shows, obscure shops, private homes, midnight auctions and little-known markets off the overly beaten path.

The result? Antique furniture, textiles, lighting, art, quilts, hooked rugs, folk art, western, industrial, mid-century modern, shabby chic and early textiles, original surfaces and primitives. We are now all over the map, from grit to glitz, both retail and to the trade.

So call or email or see us at the Marburger Farm Antique Show and the Dolly Johnson Antique Show. We also host special events and sales in our shop in the A.J. Hood pioneer home in Aledo, Tx. Happy shopping and Happy Trails!
